If you are in the beginning stages of planning your new home, your first step
should be to spend some time with the photography in our Catalogue. Get a
feel for whether you lean towards log or timber frame, or a mixture of
both. This can best be done by looking at our 56-page Catalogue. To order our Catalogue , click
HERE.
Once you get an idea about building systems and general aesthetic
preferences, start preliminary work on your design
UPDATE: CATALOG IS OUT OF PRINT. ALL PLANS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AT THE LINK BELOW:

All
situations are different, but a very rough rule of thumb is to start designing
a custom home about a year
in advance of the start of construction. Of course, we can move
much more quickly than that (particularly with a standard plan) - and
some large custom projects take even more than a year of planning and design work.
Call us and we'll help
guide you through the process. At this stage, it is
imperative to
already have purchased your property, as we need to know the lay of the land,
etc... This stage would put you in the 6 to 12 months range before
you begin building.

Probably one of the most important decisions you will make while planning your new home
is where it will be located. The size of your property & the
lay of the land will greatly determine the style & size of the home
you will build, as well as determining your overall investment.
This
knowledge also helps us determine which stage of the planning process
you are currently in so we can provide the proper service and make you
aware of any time sensitive offers or promotions.

Once
preliminary design is submitted to you and a Purchase Agreement is
authorized, final planning
for your new home can be completed. Your home will be crafted in
Dandridge, Tennessee, transported to your site, and erected by one of our trained
crews - or by your crew and our on-site technical assistant.
After the heavy timbers (and panels for a timber frame home) are erected
on the foundation that
your builder has already installed, your builder takes over and finishes
the home employing usual and customary construction techniques and local
craftsmen. |
